Riser Height

The height difference between platforms.

Closed Dimension

The space required  when a unit is closed up.

Open Dimension

The distance from back to front when the unit is fully open .

Egress

The space between the back of  one seat & the front of the other. The space people have to walk along the platforms.

Fixed Units

Units that are permanently bolted to a wall.

PORTABLE UNITS

Units that are not fixed & able to be moved around within a space.

TRAVELLING UNITS

Units that move forward & back within a space to create a more intimate setting.  Usually travel in a straight Line.

POWERED UNITS

Fully motorised  & operate  at the push of a button

MANUAL UNITS

Generally smaller units  open & closed manually or  moved within a space manually. Normally require at least 2 persons.

RECESSED UNITS

These normally fit under a balcony or mezzanine & can have continuous access aisle to the mezzanine

AISLE SCREENS

Screens  attached  to the lower aisles to act as ball blocks & prevent people climbing up the aisles when closed.  Aids health & safety & possible maintenance costs.

SIDE SCREENS / DRAPES

Curtains permanently attached to the sides of a unit to help keep people & rubbish from getting behind the structure. Aids health & safety & possible maintenance costs.

TRUNCATED

Where the first Row  starts at a higher elevation than normal. Usually to aid the sightline for customers on the lower rows.
